We (family of four with now two teenage daughters) have done a 5-day houseboat vacation on Lake Powell twice, and totally loved it both times. It's an incredible family vacation because once you're on the houseboat there is literally no where else to go. That may sound constraining, but actually it's a great way to have dedicated time with family and friends.
