The origin of the Tango, probably one of the most famous dances in the world, is not clear. Musical historians argue that it could come from the relentless rhythms that the African slaves beat on their drums (known as tan-go), or possibly the popular music of the pampas (flatlands) that combined Indian rhythms with the influence of early Spanish settlers music.
