My visit was from December 6th to the 11th which is near the end of spring for the city. Day light lasted from 5AM to 10PM which is quite different than we are used to in Ontario for December. The temperature was unseasonably high for most of our trip and was around 35C degrees at it's highest.

If you want to get out of the city for the day, you can take the ferry from Buenos Aires,Argentina to Colonia Del Sacramento, Uruguay.The express ferry leaves Buenos Aires at 830am and the last express ferry returns at 530pm.The journey takes 1 hour, and when you arrive in Uruguay it is a 4 block walk to the the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Barrio Historico (historic quarter) of Colonia.Founded in1680 it is the oldest town in Uruguay. You can easily spend the afternoon walking on the irregular cobblestone streets, visiting the 17th century ruins, lighthouse and church, the 18th century museum, as well as great shopping at artisan boutique stores and plenty outdoor cafes. Don't forget your passport and your camera!

There are so many destinations in the world to see, the fact that I would rather spend my hard earned money to get back there rather then see new places speaks volumns.
